       *** POSTPONEMENT OF IIOSC-2020: In consultation with the International Science Planning Committee of IIOSC-2020, it has been decided that the new dates to conduct IIOSC-2020 will be finalized after reviewing the situation of COVID-19 across the countries and considering the feasibility of travel across the countries. Hopefully, depending on the improvements in the situation, decision on new dates of conference will be taken at the end of June 2020. We shall keep you informed. The registered participants may either retain the registration fee as it is or seek the refund of the fee. Please let us know at your earliest convenience whether you would like to have refund of the registration fee or would like to retain it with LOC for conference to be scheduled later. At present, entire India is on lockdown for 21 days since 25 March, 2020 to contain the spread of COVID-19. The refunds can be processed after the lifting of lockdown. ***

The Second International Indian Ocean Expedition (IIOE-2) was launched in December 2015 at the culmination of the Indian Ocean Conference at Goa to mark the completion of 50 years of first International Indian Ocean Expedition. The IIOE-2 is a multi-national, multi-institutional programme to advance our understanding of the physical, chemical, biological, geological and climatological aspects of the Indian Ocean to enhance its role on the socio-economy of the region.
